The Slot Canyons of the Colorado Plateau, especially those of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Park are of an extra-ordinairy beauty.
A good map and directions to Peekaboo, Spooky and other nearby slotcanyons can be downloaded here (PDF, 1.3 Mb). The map was made by Franz Amussen. A big thanx for that!
If you want to explore them to the full extend, you'll need the excellent books written by Micheal R. Kelsey.
These books are full of maps, photo's and tips and they'll provide you with every information about every route through all of the known slot canyons on the Colorado Plateau.
They are also full of historical information about the people that explored the canyons and the first settlers that lived the hard life on the plateau.
You can order them through Amazon, just search for the author or the two most important titles: "Canyon Hiking the Colorado Plateau" and "Hiking and Exploring the Paria River".
