The Square Project, March 2005:

During a short holiday in Istanbul, I took hundreds of photo's. Mostly testing out my new Minolta digital SLR (7D). This camera is amazing in lowlight situations when you can't use a tripod.

Soon I got fed up shooting one touristtrap after another.

Trying something else I started looking for some streetlife-shots. Trying to make contact with the locals. Back at home, looking thru the photo's I took, it seemed they had something in common. Maybe I'ts just me... But some of them just look better in black and whit and cropped to a square. Gonna find me an old 6x6 camera now! Back to celluloid!

By the way, this series is not political or intended as a manifest in any sort of way...
